Recommendations on financial education

Probably the best investment you can ever make is an investment in yourself!

Therefore you will find on this page again and again new recommendations, which I can recommend in good conscience. Feel free to choose the media that will stick with you best. How about you?

Personally, I learn best from very traditional, printed books. But there are also high-quality online courses or podcasts, which I would not like to withhold from you. By the way, the order is not judgmental.

Published BEFORE the current crisis, but nevertheless (or perhaps precisely because of it) a highly exciting book with very practical tips. Recommendations for different asset classes such as stocks, gold or real estate. But which are also critically examined in light of past crises.

The Swiss author, entrepreneur and investor Rolf Dobelli has created a magnificent work here. What the cover doesn't reveal: Dobelli loves finance, the mindset of investors and Warren Buffett (star investor). For me it is not only a book for a more relaxed, happier life, but also a work that shapes the mindset of investors. Because those who invest must be able to reflect themselves well and must not stumble over their emotions. For me definitely a must read recommendation to you!

Finance Podcast Switzerland

From the great canton podcast the "financial rockers" always surprisingly entertaining and yet extremely instructive. In the podcast, there is always a duel between an active and a passive investor. For me in terms of added value definitely the best podcast in the field. Not specifically a finance podcast for Switzerland, but everything you learn there you can implement in Switzerland. Maybe with a little detour, but I'll show you that in a separate post.

It is not by chance that the financial book Preis 2016 came to Gerd Kommer. In the field of passive investing with ETF's there is probably no other specialist in the German-speaking world like him. In the book, he shows how you, as a private investor in Switzerland, can achieve a better performance with greater security than your bank advisor. He explains with the help of numerous studies why ETF's are so successful and shows you practical and concrete strategies that you can implement directly. For ETF investors in Switzerland, this is clearly a book that belongs on your shelf (after you have read it X-fach).

Okay the book is not really called Gold Coast Dad 🙂 but Rich Dad Poor Dad has been the financial advisor for Switzerland for 20 years #1. When I read the book for the first time a new world opened up for me. You can see how the thinking of the middle class is far away from that of the rich (the Gold Coast). The rich let money work for them instead of working for money. Furthermore, they place themselves correctly in the cash flow quadrant from the beginning. You can find out what this means in the highly recommended financial guide book Switzerland Rich Dad Poor Dad!
