Financial Apps & Services

In the digital age, we are only so overwhelmed by new apps, banking start-ups and other services. We will research for you which ones are really worthwhile for you in Switzerland and why you can confidently do without some of them.

Looking in your wallet for the right credit card was yesterday! With the NEON app and the corresponding credit card you have one card for everything. No matter if online payment or ATM, with the NEON credit card you will have a good experience. The fees are transparent and low and the NEON app is clear and secure. Paperless account opening and a deposit insurance up to 100.000CHF are of course included. The best: With the Neon Code «Schwiizerfranke" you get 10CHF starting credit for free!

Transferwise offers probably the most attractive conditions for transfers abroad. But not only that, because now there is also the Transferwise credit card which we recommend to every Swiss citizen. Why we are so convinced and see a clear winner in the comparison Revolut vs. Transferwise, you can read in the article.

Revolut Switzerland - Credit card for abroad

The company from the United Kingdom is causing a small revolution in the financial market in Switzerland. Security features and low to zero costs are at the top of the online banking agenda. Revolut offers you the interbank rate for 150 currencies with their credit card. Example for the euro zone: With the free account you can withdraw 200€ per month worldwide for free. Only after this limit 2% fees will be charged. Compared to conventional banks, you can easily save several hundred Swiss Francs when travelling.

Twint - Payment made easy

Even though Twint should be installed on every Swiss smartphone by now, there are still a lot of ignorant people. (By the way, we do not receive any commission for this advertisement). Twint comes from the Swiss banks and allows easy cashless payment, helps you to send and request money or to pay your parking meter. Swiss security meets functionality! What else can we say about it?

N26 Switzerland - Free euro account in Switzerland

As with Revolut, you can also pay abroad free of charge via N26. In contrast to Revolut, however, there is not the magic 200€ limit. Instead, the Swiss N26 account is held in Euro instead of Swiss francs. A no go? The service that N26 offers you is usually not available to Swiss people in the Euro zone. You can open and manage your account comfortably from Switzerland. Whether the exchange rate risk to the euro is an obstacle is up to you to decide. At least not for me, as my monthly expenses abroad never normally exceed a few hundred francs. If the euro exchange rate should then fall, I notice it less than current fees from expensive local credit cards.
