Life expectancy in Switzerland: How old will I live to be?

The known number is the Life expectancy At birth: In Switzerland, it stands at 85.4 years for women and 81.6 years for men. For you, however, a different figure is relevant: your life expectancy at your current age.

Anyone who has reached the age of 65 has already put the risky years that came before behind them. That is why, on average, they live longer than a newborn baby. Short: The older you are, the higher your statistically expected age.

Here’s an example: on average, a 65-year-old woman has 22.5 years left to live, whilst a 65-year-old man has 19.8 years left. That is exactly how long your money must last on average after retirement – and for many people, considerably longer. Many people underestimate this when deciding between a pension and a lump sum.

Your personal result is shown by the Age calculator at the top, as soon as you enter your date of birth.

  1. Dear Erich

I receive your Wealth Letter and took part in the web seminar on 17 January 2026.
We opened a 3a account with Finpension and set up an Autoinvest with SAXA Bank.
I will be 60 this year and would like to take partial retirement at 63 and draw the money.
My question; how do I make an investment strategy?
Paying in in such a way that you can draw it out again after 65+? (living expenses)
    Thank you for your answer.
