How our IBAN calculator works
Our tool offers three functions in one. Here is a brief guide:
Tab 1: Check IBAN
- Enter a Swiss or Liechtenstein IBAN (CH or LI).
- Click on «Check IBAN».
- The tool checks the length (21 digits), check digit and BC number - and shows you the corresponding bank.
Schwiizerfranke tip: For neobanks such as Neon or Yuh, the tool automatically shows you which partner bank is behind it.
Tab 2: Calculate IBAN
- Select your bank from the dropdown (incl. all neobanks).
- Enter your account number (max. 12 digits).
- The tool automatically calculates the correct check digit and generates your IBAN.
Important: The calculated IBAN is mathematically correct. No IBAN calculator can check whether the account actually exists - only your bank knows that.
Tab 3: BIC/bank search
- Enter a search term: Bank name, BIC code, BC number or city.
- The tool searches over 200 Swiss banks and payment institutions.
- Click on a result to copy the BIC directly.
Practical tip: You can also search for Neobank names such as «Neon», «Zak» or «Yuh» - the tool will automatically find the right partner bank.
